Member Account Questions

My address and/or phone number has changed.

The easiest way to update information is to login to Online Banking and under the “Info Center” tab select “Personal Information”. If Online Banking is not an option, visit branch LOCATIONS.

When will I receive my debit card or checks?

Your checks and free debit card will arrive in the mail in approximately 7-10 business days.

What is the difference between my available balance and my actual balance?

Actual balance reflects the actual funds that are in an account at any given time. Available balance is the amount that is available for use; this could reflect authorized holds from merchants for debit card transactions, uncollected fund holds for deposited items, and a variety of other transactions. It is important to remember to always spend based on available balance not actual balance.

How long do online transfers take?

Between CALCOE accounts – immediately
Between a non-CALCOE account and a CALCOE account – typically two to three business days.

What is the difference between APR and APY?

APR or Annual Percentage Rate is the annual rate of interest without taking into account the compounding of interest within that year. Alternatively, APY or Annual Percentage Yield does take into account the effects of intra-year compounding.

What are the options for making payments to loan(s) or deposits to account(s)?

  • Online Banking using the transfer funds feature.
  • Remote Deposit Capture within the free CALCOE mobile app to deposit funds.
  • Use your debit or credit card to make a loan payment either online or by phone.
  • Establish an automatic monthly debit from another financial institution to make loan payments or to deposit funds to shares or checking at CALCOE.
  • By mail. Payments and deposits usually arrive within one to two business days when sent locally.
  • Any depository ATM’s within CALCOE’s vast network of ATM’s is always an option. Check out our ATM Locator.
  • Two convenient branches in Yakima and Moxee.

What is a secured funds hold?

A secured-funds hold is a hold placed on the funds in an account by a merchant for the purchase of goods or services. An example would be a restaurant placing a hold on an account for a meal in the amount of $23.50. The hold would appear on the account after the card is run to be sure the funds are available before a signature is received for the transaction. Those funds would remain on hold until the merchant completes their processing and the funds are actually pulled from the account.

What is an uncollected funds hold?

An item that has been deposited to the Credit Union for which the member has not received part or all of the funds. This could be a check that’s been deposited by or on behalf of the member either in person or at an ATM or shared Branch.

What steps can I take to prevent fraud on my account?

For debit and credit card users, set up Manage My Cards in the CALCOE mobile app for each card. Free alerts can be sent by email or text for debit and/or credit card transactions:

  1. Over a specific transaction amount
  2. Used outside of the United States
  3. Made online or by phone

Here are several reputable resources to learn more about identity theft:

  • Federal Trade Commission – Identity Theft
  • USA.gov – Prevent and Report Identity Theft
  • Department of Justice – Identity Theft and Fraud

Remember, CALCOE will never call, email, or text you to gain your personal information. We already have your personal information on our system. If you receive a suspicious call, email, or text from a person claiming to be employed by CALCOE, discontinue communication and call CALCOE directly using our regular branch phone numbers.
